No internet line to blog

When ideas pop up in my mind, I will use Brae’s nap time to rush to the laptop and type them out. However, I have to put the words down using Microsoft Word instead of my blog site. Why? Because my house doesn’t have any telephone lines to hook up to the internet.

I go to my hubby’s office once or twice a week bringing Brae along to help out on his paperwork. I grab this chance to transfer all my blogs in Microsoft Word to my blog site and read all the mummies’ blogs as well, if Brae behaves/sleeps. I always hope that he will sleep in the office (in the car seat/sling) so that mummy has some time for herself to surf net.

Why is there no internet line in my house? My hubby encountered terrible service from Telekom when he went to apply for telephone lines. We were the first to move to our new neighbourhood three years ago. We went to Telekom in Damansara Utama to apply telephone lines. As expected, they said there was no line at our place yet. Since we were there, we just filled in the application form and paid RM10 stamping fees. We also called them once in a while to check the lines availability.

We were so happy when we received a Telekom leaflet two years ago telling us that there were lines and requested us to apply. Since we already had our application form filled (we kept the reference no), we went to Telekom DU to ask them to activate the lines.

They could trace our application form but surprisingly the form had been cancelled by them. According to them, there is a certain timeframe for activation once there is line. We didn’t know that and my hubby was so pissed when they asked for another RM10 stamping fee for a new application. They didn’t want to reactivate the line.

Since then, our house has been without phone lines. If not because of the internet, he won’t even want to install a fix line since both of us have handphones.

No more Telekom…we are patiently waiting for alternative broadband providers such as Jaring and Maxis to provide broadband or wireless service in our area.
