From daddy’s desk – 1st birthday celebration

Survey time. Wifey is looking forward to celebrating Brae’s 1st birthday in a B-I-G way. Myself, not wanting anything with too many people. The maximum I have timed my forced smile is about an hour. After that no more forced smile!

What did everyone do for their babies’ 1st birthday?

It will be a BIG birthday party for Belle when she’s turning 1. Do you know she is a day older than Brae? We will be back in KL by then and her bday party will be the day she meets all the relatives & friends. I prefer a small one but we made her bday as an excuse for us to catch up with everyone too..hehe

For Ivan when he turned one, just a small gathering with relatives at my granny’s house. For Izac, it will be at home too. Babies don’t get to enjoy their party at 1, so I’d rather have it at home where they can sleep nicely after being the center of attention 😛 But that’s just me… LOL

    Our celebrations are always simple.
Its really up to you and your preference. For us, we preferred it simple. No big dos.
My Girl’s first birthday party, total number of “guests” = 3 (that was me, hubby and the birthday girl). Hahaha.
My Boy’s first birthday party, total number of “guests” = 4 (that was me, hubby, my girl and the birthday boy). Lol!
Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves. We had balloons, banners, new clothes for the birthday person, lotsa gifts from mummy and daddy, a huge cake (for photography sake. hehe) which we later distributed to close relatives, lotsa balloons and huge smiles from all the “guests” especially the birthday kiddoes.

We had a family dinner (inclusive grandparents only) at a Chinese Restaurant. Come to think of it, it’s the adults who enjoyed the foodlah 🙂 To each his own.

We had a small family event..popiah lunch, with my immediate family members and husband’s.

At 1yr old, they can’t appreciate the party much, I think they know how to appreciate when they reach 2yrs old and beyond..

So for 2 yrs old, we’re thinking of a bigger celebration for Zara.

1st Birthday is a hoo-haa for me. Later years when they grow up, you can show the pic to them. If you want hassle free, go to McD or KFC or A&W. Eat, party, play and pay! The best part is the staff will organize games and party bag for kiddos. You can concentrate on entertaining the older guests.

Thanks for dropping by. Brae’s 1st Birthday is a big thing for me too. But we still haven’t decided where to hold the celebration.
