Annual holidays

I have often told wifey that when we start a family, we must bring the kids for holidays so that they can experience more things and have lots of wonderful childhood memories. To most people, that’s the norm but when it’s coming from a person who never gets to claim his annual leave, it’s a revelation! Wifey probably thought I was spewing some crap to get her to agree to have kids 😉

Must be zaramama’s post about places she wants to visit that gave me the final push to get some planning done. I think we will start with cuti-cuti Malaysia first before visiting some of her exotic destinations (have been to Grand Canyon though)

So the search is on for a nice place to stay in Terengganu. The last time I was there, Boyz II Men were still ruling the airwaves and Tanjong Jara Beach Resort (pre-YTL) was unheard of. Any recommendations on where to stay? We plan to have the trip very close to monsoon season in mid-September.

Well, you can check out The Aryani at Price-wise is about RM 369 (with breakfast). Check it out here:

Have not been there. But came highly recommended by a friend. Only thing I worry is that it might not be baby-friendly. Maybe you can shoot them an email and enquire? 🙂
The Aryani caught my eye too. Very boutique. Thanks.

Yeah… Kijal Awana is one of the best among all the Awana here.. and the pools are really nice too not to mention the beaches. Very private and peaceful… great place to relax! 🙂

Driving to Teregganu from KL might be quite stressful – very long hrs. I dare not try it with my girl, perhaps later.

Alternatively, how about Pulau Pangkor? shorter car ride and ferry ride.

Tanjung Jara Beach Resort loh.. 🙂
But it’s expensive ler.. we wanted to go there during the May 1st holiday.. RM3000 to bring 2 kids in an all-inclusive package.

I think with that kind of $, maybe can take Berjaya Package to go to Redang, inclusive of flight.

I would love to bring my kids to Redang, but probably not the bumpy boat ride. So maybe one day, we’ll go to Berjaya Redang.

And Club Med! RM1200/head though.. we thought of bringing the kids there when Zaria is 2yrs old.

Last but not least, Hyatt Kuantan is also a nice place to stay. You can stay go up to Cherating beach, and explore Kuantan town.

Shay is still young, too long a drive may be too taxing for her. That’s what we thought too when planing for a trip.
Yes, Tanjung Jara is expensive now that YTL has taken over. I went there once when they first opened donkey years ago. Very nice place.

Hyatt Kuantan is also on our shortlist when we visit Kuantan (which should be soon). Wonder if their Regency Rooms are as fancy as they were before.

Shayanne should be fine for the drive so long there’s milk! Braedyn has been tested up to 5 hours in the car and he seems to be fine. Don’t know if our crap car can take the drive though.
