Shayanne: 4 months old

Look at her chubby cheeks…her ezcema is getting worse after we stopped applying the steroid cream. Poor baby…she must have felt very itchy!

Updates on Shayanne:-

  • Weight: 7 kg
  • She is not as chubby as before. Her arms, which could give the Michelin Bibendum man a good fight, don’t look as good as his anymore. She’s grown much taller so looks more lean.
  • Her head is very steady now.
  • She can now roll over from her back to her front (started 2 weeks back) but cannot roll back onto her back. She will roll over once we put her on the playgym and start to grab things near her.
  • She loves sticking her fists inside her mouth to suck and suck, with her saliva all oozing out which she will then spread around her mouth area. Not helping her ezcema at all.
  • She likes to sleep on her stomach. Whenever she’s on her side, she will topple over and continue to sleep.
  • I have difficulty nursing her when we are outside especially when they are a lot of people around. Very “pat por” this little girl. She will stick her face out of my nursing wear and look around….*slap head*. I have to resort to expressing milk everyday for storage just in case we need to feed her when we are out the whole day and she has a lot of things to look at. It’s very challenging to pump when I am nursing Shay with Brae nearby. He will see me pumping away and then he will rush over to sit next to me and ka-ka-cau-cau (disturb). Most of the time I can only pump 2-3 oz in an hour. How to boost my milk supply? Brae is very good at mimicking my pumping action now.
  • Sometimes when I nurse her, she will slip her fingers into her mouth and start sucking on them.
  • Nowadays, she loves it when people carry her and walk around. During family dinner, she will whine and stretch in the car seat until someone picks her up. Sometimes, daddykhong and I have to take turns to stand and eat at the same time!!!
  • She loves to watch her kor-kor playing.

wah…that’s real bad eczema, i didn’t notice that the previous time i saw her
Yes, so bad that even MIL has some advice to give. Everytime after drinking milk, must remember to wipe her face clean.

I suffer from eczema myself, at the back of my knee since young. You can cure it but only prevent an outbreak. Try this cream called Elficord from France, not very strong on steroid but it works for Claudia. Available in major pharmacy, no need prescription. Myself need strong cream cause my eczema is like ……..mmm lets said has grown more matured.
Thanks. So many brands these days.

I have been a silent reader of your blog. I don’t have a blog – my sister has a blog, she is Zara and Zaria’s mama. My daughter had some eczema too on her face and it was quite unpleasant sight, we took her to the paed and was given some cream (Daktacort). The cream works wonders but the minute we stopped applying the cream, the damn eczema returns. I was getting worried about applying the cream for more than 7 days since it contained steroid – I started surfing for an alternative and found Daktarin. I applied Daktacort for 7 nights straight (once every night before bedtime) and after the 7 days, I switched to Daktarin for another 7 nights. The eczema is gone. Phew! Since I am a kiasu mother and my child is a girl – I now apply Mustela Facial Cream.
Wah, another silent supporter. Thanks for the support and the recommendation. Will try it out.

On eczema, I used Elidel cream, I think can get it at any pharmacy. Contain no steriod. But it is very expensive for a small tube, costs about RM97. Can give it a try.
    Will do. Thanks.

2, 3oz per hour still not enough ah? :O
I can only get the most about 4oz for every 3 hours.
Poor girl.. but she didn’t look like she’s bothered with the ezema.

Yah..luckily she doesn’t know how to scratch yet

Mummykhong, I drink loads of Hollicks to boost my milk supply. So far, it works wonders! If I feed Gibran from only one breast for 6 hours (meaning leave one breast to engorge a bit lah for 6 hours), when I pump can get 4 oz. in 20 minutes. Sometimes when I feed Gib from only one breast the whole night long, when expressing milk in the morning can get 6 oz. in 20 minutes. Other than that, malays believe in “jantung pisang” (aiyoooo forgot what this is called in english?!!!! darn!) ..so I eat this every work just to give the milk production a boost. The next day after taking the jantung pisang, I’ll express milk in the morning and at one point got nearly 12 oz. in 40 minutes. Hope this helps. And of course, loads of water helps (I drink about 3 litres a day minimum). I’m sure u know some of this already. hehe
