Brae’s 1-year-old birthday party

Brae turned 1 year old on 6th November 2006. We celebrated his birthday the night before at Rakuzen in Plaza Damas. Initially, we had plans to organise a big bash with everyone (family, extended family, friends) included but invariably, the B-I-G party fizzled out into a small dinner with the immediate family. (I blame daddykhong for this, if he put the same amount of effort into planning the party as he does into his work, then we would have a party so grand that even Istana Zakaria in Klang won’t be able to fit us all!!)

We did get the cake that we wanted though so it wasn’t that bad. My BILs and partners bought lots of gifts, balloons and even a party hat for Brae so the atmosphere was there.

The restaurant was packed that day and BILs sounded surprised that we didn’t book a private room for the event. We never thought of that! Aiya, the 3 of us are so accustomed to eating at roadside stalls, how to even know that we have to book? Fortunately, Rakuzen had a big room available for us.

Brae was a bit confused when he entered the room. At first, he was okay but after a while, he started to whine. Perhaps he was tired as he didn’t take his proper naps since we were out the whole day and perhaps there was too much attention on him with all the camera flashes going off.
