From daddy’s desk – My little boy turns 1

What a year it has been. It just seemed like yesterday, the day that Brae was born. I still remember very vividly the events that day though I can’t seem to remember the delivery ward no.! Was it Delivery Ward No. 12 or 10?

A year has passed since then and although the blue-black marks on my forearms (yea, wifey has strong hand muscles and she held on to BOTH arms very tightly) have since dissipated, the joy of seeing my firstborn coming out into this world, hearing his loud cries (which still ring to this day, these nights it rings right next to my right ear), and holding him for the first time will always remain etched in my memories till the day I am no longer around.

What is truly priceless from a dad’s viewpoint is the look on my wife’s face as she laid her eyes on Brae for the first time. Her tear hydrants automatically opened up and she gave him one of her big smiles.

Well, can’t write too much now. Have to spend more time with Brae before he turns 2. I have been spending far too much time at work and although we all say that we must spend more time with the kids, how many of us actually get round to doing so? Work can wait, right?
